The number one driver for success on Instagram is…… you guessed it CONSISTENCY. But knowing HOW to be consistent on Instagram can be a bit tricky.

Showing up, providing value and being consistent on Instagram is how I have managed to grow and find regular clients for my photography business.

So without further adieu – let’s jump into it.

HOW TO BE CONSISTENT ON INSTAGRAM

How to be consistent on Instagram[1] Plan and Batch Create

If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

Having a plan of what you’re going to post in advance will help you show up consistently and stick to your schedule.

I wrote a whole blog post about batch creating content which you can read here.

I plan all my content out a month in advance, and I batch create every 2 weeks.

Batch creating in my business looks like this:

  • Filming Reels
  • Sourcing images for posts
  • Creating graphics in Canva for posts and Reel Covers
  • Writing captions
  • Writing blog posts
  • Scheduling Tailwind Pins

[2] Use Content Pillars

A content pillar is a theme or regular topic that you can share around. Some basic examples are:

  • Educational: teach your audience something
  • Personal: interesting facts about you, behind the scenes, the messy side of the business
  • Promotional: sales, promo codes, new product or service launches
  • Social Proof: testimonials, client stories and wins, positive feedback from DMs
  • Community: sharing posts/reels from others in your niche that are inspiring or informative

I personally like to share about Photography, Instagram Tips and Content Creation tips – these are my 3 MAIN pillars.

I then share educational, personal, promotional, social proof or community posts around each of those 3 main topics.

[3] Repurpose your top-performing content

Even with content pillars, it can sometimes be daunting to come up with new ideas. That’s why I LOVE to look at my insights and find top-performing content to re-use.

If it was a post, turn it into a reel. If it was a reel, turn it into a carousel post – you get the idea. This is a really easy way for you to make content that you KNOW is going to resonate with your audience.

BONUS: Practice, Practice, Practice!!!

Like anything in life, practice makes perfect. The more you keep going, the more you’ll figure out systems that work for you to help you be consistent on Instagram.
