How to build trust on Instagram with behind-the-scenes content
Today’s post is all about sharing more of your authentic story so that you can build trust on Instagram. We all know that people only make purchases when they feel like they trust the person or brand. A great way to build trust is to allow people to peak behind the curtain of your business. I love behind the scenes content, because it is SO EASY to create!
What is behind-the-scenes content?
Behind the-scenes content is the real, messy and authentic parts of your business.
A common mistake I see is people trying to create perfection on Instagram. We think because we are a business, we are held to a higher standard.
This is WRONG! For small businesses, people LOVE to see all the hard work you are doing behind the scenes.
As an example, for me, it might be showing the chaos that unfolds in my studio during a shoot – let me tell ya, it gets messy π
3 reasons why behind-the-scenes (BTS) content should be part of your Instagram strategy ‡οΈ
Reason 1:β¨ it helps people get to know like and trust you. Which means theyβre more likely to purchase from you
Reason 2:β¨ people find it really interesting so this type of content tends to get more engagement. More engagement = more reach = more chance to get discovered by new accounts
Reason 3: β¨itβs really easy to create because you are already doing the work anyway π
Here are 10 types of BTS content you can share:
ππΌ show a process
ππΌ show what ingredients/fabrics/props etc you use
ππΌ pack an order
ππΌ workspace tour
ππΌ what tools do you use to create your product
ππΌ your favourite systems for your business
ππΌ timelapse of you completing a task or project
ππΌ go live while you do a task (eg mixing a product, painting a picture etc)
ππΌ share a before and after (eg ingredients to finished product, messy office to clean office, fabric to final product etc)
ππΌshare a day in the life
